Where Did That Survey Come From?

Some teachers, after signing into BAIP, have been taken to an unfamiliar screen that looks like Fig 1.

Study Districts

A handful of districts throughout Kansas are helping improve BAIP by participating in a research study. Part of this study involves the collection of usage data. Teachers in participating districts will see the surveys described below. Everyone else will not see these surveys .

Past Usage Survey

In the first part of this study, participating teachers will be asked to complete a brief, 1-time survey on how they used BAIP last year (Fig 1). There are no instructions to find this survey because this survey will automatically find participating teachers! The first time a participating teacher signs into BAIP they will be redirected to this past usage survey. On all future visits to BAIP, teachers will by-pass this survey and be taken directly to their accounts as expected.

Current Lesson Usage Surveys

Fig 2. Getting To A Lesson Survey
In the second part of this study, participating teachers will be asked to complete a survey for every BAIP lesson they use. Unlike the past usage survey described above, teachers will not be automatically taken to these surveys. What follows are instructions on how to find these surveys, and tips on keeping track of which surveys a teacher has completed.

Participating teachers will find some new links in the content section ("My Content" tab) of their BAIP accounts. To the right of every lesson link, participating teachers will now also see a column titled, "Complete Survey" (Fig. 2). The numbers on the buttons in this column correspond with the lessons numbers. So, for example, to use lesson "1", a teacher would hit the "1" button under "View". To fill out a usage survey on this lesson, the same teacher would then hit the "1" button under "Complete Survey"

Completion of the survey is fairly self explanatory. Once a teacher has completed a survey, they'll be taken back the content section of their account where they'll notice that the button for the survey is now grayed out. This allows teachers to quickly know which surveys they've completed.
