We were excited to get this article from Cassie Fleming (USD 270) and her students about their experience using BAIP. They have shown us that what we are doing at BAIP and working with teachers like you is really making a difference in the classroom, but don't take our word for it. See what Cassie and her class have to say about it!

"This article is proof that you receive prompt responses when you contact BAIP regarding
concerns about the program.  I contacted customer service regarding a parent involvement activity that could not be assigned to students.  I received a very prompt response from Sharon Gan informing me that the problem would be remedied as quickly as possible.  I responded about how impressed I was with the BAIP program, and Sharon asked if I would write a brief article.

My introduction to BAIP occurred last year when my building administrator told me she had designated me as the contact person.  I attended a workshop in Hays to learn the basics, then I jumped in with both feet to Cassie Flemingset up our district. It was very easy, and now all that needs to be done is add new students as they come into the district.

I first used BAIP last year as a means to review for the state math assessment. I found it extremely easy to use, and greatly appreciated that all of the materials I needed for the lessons were right there.  The lessons are scripted, but you can easily change them to fit your personality or teaching style.  Personally, I feel that both last year’s seventh and eighth grade students benefited from the program.  Their assessment scores improved over the previous year.  The students had the opportunity to complete the tutorials in the computer lab and at home.

We are all aware of the financial constraints placed upon districts.  When preparing our School Improvement Plan, BAIP was prominently placed in the plan.  The district supported our request by purchasing BAIP for the present school year.  We hope to continue the use of BAIP in future years, not only in math, but in science as well.
