BAIP Alerts

As many of you may have noticed that sometimes, when you sign into BAIP, instead of going to the usual “My Classes” tab, you are taken to a page entitled BAIP alerts.

What are BAIP alerts?  BAIP Alerts are our attempt at getting relevant BAIP information to you at the right time without filling up email inbox.  We intend to use this feature sparingly, so when a new alert shows up in your account, you’ll know it’s important and worth reading.  And because alerts are targets to specific groups (teachers, district contacts, superintendents) you’ll only get alerts that are pertinent to you.

What are the icons by each alert title? Not all alerts are created equal.  The icons by each alert give you a clue as to the general categories to which each alert belongs.  Below is a table that details the alert icons you can expect to see and the categories with which they are affiliated.

When are you automatically taken to BAIP Alerts?  If there is an alert for a group that you are a member of (teacher, district contact, etc.), and you haven’t signed in since the alert first started displaying, then you’ll automatically get taken to your alerts page.  These new alerts that you haven’t seen will always be at the top of the alert list, and each will have a “new” icon (below) beside it.  BAIP will remember that you’ve seen all the new alerts so next time you sign in, you’ll go to the usual “My Classes” page.

Can I view my BAIP Alerts besides when I sign in? Yes! Alerts often include instructions about how to utilize new BAIP features, links to helpful BAIP resources, or other kinds of information that you might want to access long after you’ve initially read the alert.  View your BAIP alerts at any time by clicking the “Alerts” link in the upper right hand corner of most BAIP pages.

Alerts disappear without hitting the “Remove” link.  You don’t HAVE to remove alerts, as every alert has an end date at which point it will magically disappear from you account.  If you do remove alerts, make sure to save the alerts with information that you might want to use at a later date.

Thanks for using BAIP and thanks for helping us make BAIP better.  As always, please feel free to contact me with your questions and comments.
