WELCOME TO BAIP

The Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation (CETE) and the e-Learning Design Lab (eDL), in cooperation with the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), is pleased to announce the availability of the Blending Assessment with Instruction Program (BAIP) in mathematics. The goal of BAIP is to provide assistance to teachers in aligning their instruction in mathematics with the standards and assessed indicators in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 with the ultimate goal of enhancing the achievement of students in mathematics. BAIP resources include 276 research based-lessons for teachers, 417 independent online tutorials for students, and a management system for teachers. Over 100 teachers, subject matter experts, and technical support staff have contributed to the development and testing of BAIP.

KSDE is supporting the implementation of BAIP this fall at no cost to districts and have provided the initiative in engaging the Regional Service Centers (RSCs) to serve in a leadership role in providing state-wide training on BAIP. Seven sessions on BAIP training were held this summer for representatives of the RSCs and nine of the large districts in the state. A "Getting Started" online training module is also available for teachers as part of the BAIP resources.

To access BAIP, you will need to complete a brief registration process by providing the information on the following screens. If you wish to review the demonstration site before registering your district, go to http://www.elearndesign.org/baip_demo where you will find examples of lessons and tutorials for your review. Once you have completed the registration process, the individuals that you have authorized to enter teachers and classes for your district into the system will have full access to BAIP resources.

Even if your district does not plan to immediately implement BAIP, you are encouraged to complete the district registration process. Registering your district allows your district full access to the BAIP system.

If you have questions about any aspect of BAIP or its implementation, please contact:
